The answer for me was a huge, resounding yes. My agent is Carly Watters at P.S. Literary Agency, and I literally wouldn’t be where I am now without her patient guidance and expertise.”

2. https://kimwrtr.wordpress.com/2019/02/05/7-tips-for-writing-fantasy/Reedsy recently published some great tips for fantasy authors–tips which can be easily applied to any fiction writing. Here is my summary of a selection of these tips.”

4. https://kobowritinglife.com/2019/02/05/telling-vs-showing-when-emotions-are-at-work/Show, Don’t Tell is one of those writerly phrases thrown out often enough that many writers can’t help but roll their eyes when they hear it. And I get it; the concept is drilled into us from the moment we crack open our first craft book or settle into the seat of our first workshop. The premise is simple: showing means involving the reader, telling means explaining to the reader. In fiction we use both, but because we want our stories to captivate the audience and take them on an emotional journey, showing is used more as it works better to pull readers into the character’s inner world.”

Reid and his publisher Mr. Kelly Cole, both Bestselling Authors, are hosting a FREE Masterclass for those of you in the Atlanta area. I met Reid last year at the 4th Quarterly Mixer event hosted by Tinzley Bradford. Guys, the man knows his stuff, just wait until you hear him speak. You don’t want to miss this. I hear new and aspiring authors talk about the high cost of publishing all the time. Truth is, there are tons of free opportunities out there. Reach out and take them! Take advantage of the free resources that are available. This is one of them. If you are in the area, come on out.”

2. https://thesilenteye.co.uk/2019/02/03/being-present/ “It was weird. I had set up the blog for while I was away with every post I would usually publish. During my absence, I still managed to visit the blogs I would usually read and answered all the comments. In fact, there was absolutely nothing to show I was not at home and at my desk. Even so, the number of page views halved. That happens every so often for no apparent reason and it is not worth even thinking about. This time, though, the stats had been that way for exactly the duration of my absence. I can understand the change when it is obvious that I am away, when posts and responses might be erratic, but on this occasion, there was nothing at all to even hint that I might not be at home.”

5. https://sistersofthefey.com/2019/02/03/the-truth-of-a-witch-that-cant-hex-cant-heal-hexing-and-healing/These days there seems to be a growing divide between magickal practitioners who claim the truth of witchery compared to those who embrace a lighter form of the craft. The expression “a witch that can’t hex, can’t heal” is often offered as a counterpoint to sayings like “harm none,” but what does this saying truly mean?”

Book Reviews, Releases, Cover Reveals, & Author Interviews:

  1. https://shelleywilsonauthor.com/2019/02/05/childrensbook-make-this-by-ella-schwartz-bookreview-by-scifiandscary-tuesdaybookblog/ “Create your maker space with this fun and instructive book, chock-full of hands-on activities and cool experiments to get kids thinking and tinkering.”

But now that she finally has it, the murmurs of dissent grow louder by the day. There’s also the alarming issue of whether or not her sisters are actually dead—or if they’re waiting in the wings to usurp the throne.”
  3. https://teripolen.com/2019/02/04/calendar-girls-black-history-month-best-book-by-a-black-author/ “To narrow this down, I’m sticking with YA books I’ve read in the past year.  Recently I reviewed Dread Nation by Justina Ireland (review).  I loved the zombie-added alternate history take by this author, and Jane, her intelligent, snarky protagonist stole my heart.  Pride by Ibi Zoboi is a retelling of Pride and Prejudice, probably my favorite Jane Austen novel.  The modernized version of this story intrigued me – unfortunately, I only read a 5 chapter sampler, and I’ve never been able to get back to the book.  But I plan to!  Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi has received exceptional reviews.  It’s been in my TBR for a while, and I’ll be reading it for my book club in a couple of months.  If I’d had been more caught up, I’m sure it would be at the top of my list.” I would add Tiffany Sly Lives Here Now! By Dana L. Davis.
