The Spring Equinox for those of us south of the equator. Days and nights of equal length. The crepuscular critters get out and about in the times we are more aware of them. I love those things – their sounds, shapes, the way they hide in the half-light as day fades or wakes. It is a time of magic, of welcome, of life.

Today is the day of the Spring Equinox. It’s a special day, made more special by a special friend who has her birthday today – and today’s birthday is a special one. Significant. She is in the special group of people who were born warriors, waged war all her life to protect her charges, and continues the fight every day.
