“The house comes with all the chattels,” the real-estate agent said again, “and he’s a chattel.”

“I heard you the first time,” Hella wanted to reach through the phone and rip him a new — no, she didn’t want to hurt him, just make sure he got the same amount of sleep she got last night — absolutely bloody none!

“If you tell me who the previous owner was, I can ask them if—”

“No can do, Ms Solari. I only know what’s on the Section…
