Christmas in July

Today, we celebrated Christmas in July with our entire family. It was a great day, everyone was able to come and the kids had an absolute ball. The idea behind Christmas in July is that we get to experience a “cold” Christmas. That didn’t happen. We are having a bit of an “Indian Summer” so it was quite a hot day for July even by South African standards. The kids and gents were all wearing t-shirts and shorts.

Everyone got a small gift from me. Mini gingerbread houses for the kids and chocolate coated shortbread for the adults.

We had a traditional hot meal of roast lamb, roast potatoes and a variety of vegetables. My sister, Laura, is vegan. She contributed a delicious lentil and veggie curry.
