          Fantasy/Dystopian/UF/Paranormal/SF:

  1. https://libraryoferana.wordpress.com/2018/03/28/swift-six-author-interview-joleene-naylor-fantasy-paranormal/ I write what most people call urban fantasy (though my vampires are rarely in an urban setting.) Fantasy has always been my favourite, and vampires are so versatile that I can find a story to fit every mood. For instance, my Patrick novel is pretty much straight horror, while the Heart of the Raven arc, in the Amaranthine series, is pure fantasy (with an evil “wizard”, a quest, and a group of adventurers). Meanwhile, my upcoming novel is a contemporary road trip, and the short story I have in Nightly Bites Volume 2 is more paranormal/historical.
  2. https://libraryoferana.wordpress.com/2018/03/30/review-lawyers-in-hell-sharedworld-darkfantasy-historicalfic/ Lawyers in Hell forms part of the Heroes in Hell shared world. As usual with these anthologies, there is an eclectic mix of stories. Some I enjoyed more than others, but there was nothing I didn’t like. From Guy Fawkes trying to sue Satan (Fawkes believes he is a martyr and thus should be in heaven) to Leonides dealing with a recalcitrant Alexander, to ex-presidents, to succubi causing mayhem and Erra and his Sibbiti (an ongoing theme) there is mischief afoot in Hell.
  3. https://teripolen.com/2018/03/30/the-writers-reading-corner-tracy-a-ball-indieauthor-amreading-paranormal/ Tracy’s YA sweet romance fantasy, Dragonfly Dreams, is included in the charity anthology, Darklight and Daydreams, which provides aid to people in Puerto Rico.

  2. http://bloodredpencil.blogspot.com/2018/03/DoverBooks.html Dover Bookshas been reissuing facsimile editions of literary classics since 1941. During March, for Women’s History Month, they feature the many feminist authors in their collection. You’ll probably remember some of these titles from your college literature classes.

  1. http://www.thisishorror.co.uk/look-out-for-figures-unseen-by-steve-rasnic-tem/ “Tem has this powerful ability to blend genres seamlessly while engaging the reader at a personal level with stories unlike anything you’ve ever read.”
  2. http://www.thisishorror.co.uk/searchlight-the-werewolf/ When you run out of stories to read about a monstrous subject, sometimes it’s best to visit the folklore that fuels those tales. When it comes to the werewolf, there’s a ton of fiction out there, but not much of it is very good. Fortunately for us, the best werewolf fiction out there delivers the goods and is essential reading for your horror education. Most of the non-fiction is standard fare, but one would be hard-pressed to find a reference guide as thorough as The Werewolf in Lore and Legendby Montague Summers.
  3. http://www.thisishorror.co.uk/book-review-life-is-what-happens-between-advertisements-by-brian-auspice/If you like your novellas to lead you off the beaten track into an adventure in narrative style, while still delivering an entertaining and thought-provoking story, you can’t go wrong with this book.

MG/YA:

  1. http://www.fromthemixedupfiles.com/2018/03/ready-set-go-childrens-books-compete-overseas/ “Each librarian selects their own books to recommend to the committee. Each book must have been published in the last two years, have school-wide student appeal, and is worthy of literary merit. Where they find books to consider is wide-open. Books can be chosen from far and wide, and not through regular channels. If a librarian falls in love with a book, and it meets the criteria, he or she is free to bring it forward.”

  5. https://robbiesinspiration.wordpress.com/2018/03/30/the-land-of-far-beyond-my-favourite-childrens-book-ever/ When I recall all the amazing books that I read as a child, The Land of Far Beyond sticks out in my mind as my very favourite book ever. I came across this book in our public library when we were living in George in the Western Cape. I borrowed it over and over again and now, as an adult, I have managed to acquire my own copy.

Short Stories/Anthologies/Novella:

  1. https://coldhandboyack.wordpress.com/2018/03/28/how-about-some-free-days/ Once upon a time, I wrote this book called The Enhanced League. It’s my take on a baseball league where performance enhancing drugs are not banned. It’s a little bit science fiction, and a bit human drama.
  2. https://coldhandboyack.wordpress.com/2018/03/31/rosies-bookreview-team-rbrt-superhero-fantasy-the-hat-by-c-s-boyack-virgilante-2/ The Hatis a delightfully fun, whimsical fantasy with overtones of chick lit and Disney magic. As a novella, it is a fast, fast read, and I was disappointed when I came to the end.
